hi all,
lodged ss application (along with hardcopy docs') with SA before 14/5/10 deadline. Still not heard back from them as system shut down. Anybody got any idea when they are re-starting processing? i cant find any info' on the SA gov' website. I thought they may have released something to tie in with DIAC re-commencing visa apps'. Plus, is it possible to lodge 176 visa application with DIAC before i get confirmation from SA regarding a positive result from ss application? (i'm quietly confident given that me and my OH are both experienced nurses), or will this potentially be a disasterous and costly decision as it could be that SA refuse my ss app'? hence meaning that my 176 application delayed until i get ss from somewhere else.
Please please help....its becoming too frustrating......cheers.

hi carlito, if you are confident enuf, you should wait it out (for the SS reply to arrive) normally the period is between 2.5 months earliest, and 4 months latest for a State to grant Sponsorship, which means one must just go about one's daily routine without too much thought to when the result will arrive?!
and i believe the States are suspending processing "until further notice" and since DIAC itself has not updated the website as to when they will lift the suspension off of GSM 176, you must be in the status quo, the deadline for submitting SS apps for bypassing the status quo was 7th May 2010! the day that the suspension was announced....since you application went in after that date you had best refer to the DIAC + State website for updates
take it easy mate, all's well that ends well

i thought diac had lifted the suspension for 176 as from the 1st July? that was my understanding anyway. according to the information i received from SA (check out the SA gov website) the deadline was 14th May for ss applications (hard copy included) they just werent processing any that were not running in conjunction with an already submitted 176 app'. its not that i'm impatient, just that its useful to know when i can get on with things and get on with my life....thanks for the reply tho'.

We are in the same situation. Submitted SS form to SA before May 7th and on their tracking system we can read that documents were received May 14th.
But I'm very curious - is there anyone who managed to apply online but didn't send docs by May 14th? Or any similar situation? Has anyone seen on their tracking site status "rejected" or "cancelled"? Or everybody just got the link to the info about SS being suspended until further notice?
The problem is we don't even know it they will proccess our application at all... And we lost so much time already. If we knew they wouldn't proccess we'd send for skills reassessment straight away. It's also additional months...
It's sooo annoying :/
Still I guess we can't blame them, the states must have been surprised by DIAC along with skill assessment centres and immigrants. So irresponsible..

I am in the same situation, I sent my docs before 14 may and since I did not lodge visa with DIAC my application is on hold,
For the 2 first weeks my on line application status showed processing time between 4 to 8 weeks and I knew that my application is on hold
so, I sent them an email inquiring about my application and in two days my application status changed to " please check our website....."
I mean they forgot to change my status and if you have not lodged a visa with DIAC they do not process your application
good luck

Seems odd to me that SA cant co-ordinate re-commencement of SS apps' with DIAC visa apps' coming back online. It the whole not knowing that does my head in. I 'd expect more in the way of customer service from government departments.
Does anyone waiting for their ss application to be processed know if its possible to apply for 176 before getiing a positive sponsorship result?? from what i remember the last time i looked at online visa app' form you need a ss reference number.

it is easy to blame, wot abouit the e-enhancement and the dramatically reduced processing times that also took effect on July 1 dear, if the sick or their guardian angels can honk over to an e-portal, thaey may find www.emedicinehealth.com and a host of other sites that administer self-help and preventative care

there is an update on the SA website:
http://www.migration.sa.gov.au/sa/im...gen_skill3.jsp
07 July 2010 - New Applications for State Sponsorship You will be aware that Immigration SA ‘shut down’ our Online Sponsorship Application System from 15 May 2010 until further notice.
While we are aware that occupations on the revised Skilled Occupations List released by DIAC on 1 July 2010 may be available for State Sponsorship, Immigration SA will not commence accepting new applications for State Sponsorship until the State Migration Plan (SMP) is implemented. Information about the SMP and the sponsorship eligibility list and any new criteria will be available on the Immigration SA website when they are finalised. There is no date set for the release of the State Migration Plan but this is not likely to occur before August 2010.
Do not contact Immigration SA but monitor our website: www.migration.sa.gov.au – for the release and implementation of the State Migration Plan and the List of Occupations for Sponsorship for the next Program Year 2010-2011. Any amendments to the criteria, process and processing times will also be published when the State Migration Plan is released and all current and new applicants must meet any new requirements.
Current complete applications for State Sponsorships for 176 Visas received by Immigration SA (and not yet processed) may be considered for Sponsorship when the new State Migration Plan/List of Occupations is released. Emails are being sent to current applicants/agents to advise them of the action they need to take.
Thank you for your interest in South Australia. Please monitor this website regularly.
