spouses english proficiency-subclass 139
I am trying to apply on subclass 139- as me being the primary applicant.
I am not claiming any point for spouse skill.
*Does my spouse need to have functional/vocational English proficiency[IELTS 4.5-5.0]?
**If I have to pay the fees [for not being proficient in English] how much would it be for Victoria?
thanks

This funds about 500 hours of English language tuition. Rules are the same Australia-wide about English competency for spouses of skilled migrants.

Hi Jeremy,
What if the secondary applicant(the skilled applicant's wife) submits a
letter from the college that English was the medium of instruction
(where in I completed my 4 year bachelor's in Computer Science) instead
of the IELTS  ??
Will that suffice? We submitted the application on Sept 15th,2005.
Any idea when this new rule of every non-native english speakers to
submit the IELTS came into effect  ?
Thanks again..Greek Goddess
