Default Sponsoring First Cousin

Hi all, sorry for posting this here but I need to know if I can sponsor my cousin to come here on a Skilled Visa. I have done a search but honestly the sheer number of different visa showing up is hurting my little brain.

Basically, he's a 32 year old Carpenter/Joiner and is going through his TRA at present.
I think we would be eligible for a Regional Visa or designated area visa on the Sunshine Coast? but like I said too many numbers!!

Thanks for looking.

Kevin

It depends. Are you a PR? Have you been here for more than 2 years? Does he even need sponsorship or can he get enough points on his own?

www.immi.gov.au has a wizard he can fill in to see whether he qualifies for a visa on his own.

Sponsorship is not a fast track. In fact it may take longer for a sponsored visa, as DIAC has to not only check his application but your details as well. The wait is really only a small drop in the bucket of what is potentially the rest of his life.

Thanks again Dorothy, I would have thought that about sponsorship as well as they will look into our details as well.

He's not a computer person so I'll print a few things out for him to read up on.

Cheers
