Sponsored 457 to PR
Quick question: If I get sponsored on a 457 visa, and then I want to apply for PR whilst on this visa out in Australia, is it down to my company sponsoring me for the PR or is it more complicated than that?

Employer sponsorship is one way of getting PR if they are willing and you qualify.
Or maybe you could apply for a general skilled migrant visa independently if you qualify for that.

If they are willing, what do I need to qualify? Apologies for the dumb ass questions, but I need some answers quick as I have some decisions to make soon. Cheers

Employee Eligibility for ENS 856 visa
In essence, if your employer is willing to sponsor you and your occupation is suitable for the visa, you either have to have worked in Australia for 2 years preceeding the application, including 12 months with the nominating employer OR have your skills assessed by the relevant authority with 3 years experience prior to application OR be in a high paying executive position earning $165k PA (not including super)
The above is for the on-shore ENS, for the off-shore (ie, not coming in on a 457 first, but going straight for ENS) then obviously the 'worked in Australia for 2 years' option isn't applicable, you would have to be assessed or be in a high earning position instead.
