Default sponsor requirements

hi
iam in the process of applying for a subclass 176 visa. i have a brother living in sydney with 25yrs and he is a citizen. i also have a brother living in perth he and his family moved there on a subclass136 visa 2.5yrs ago.

so now immi have asked me to fill out form 80 and get police certs. and one of the questions in form 80 relates to my immediate family members and their citizenship and what date they acquired it. my brother in sydney isn't that helpfull tbh and allthough he said he would get the date of his citizenship for me 2 weeks ago when i rang him for it he still hasn't produced it, and i know from texts and phonecalls that he hasn't done much looking for it either. so last night he threw a bit of a wobbler and now seems a bit hesitant about sponsoring me, eventually he agreed to go and get the date for me, i now have serious doubts about using him as my sponsor. my other brother in perth can under his visa entitlements sponsor me also. so what i want to know is must my brother in perth be in australia a certain length of time before he can sponsor me?. would immigration look more favourable on having a citizen as a sponsor over a resident?.
i could molly coddel the brother along in sydney if i have to, but would prefer to use the brother in perth as he is more reliable if it didn't make any difference.
i think i can still change which brother i can use without any hassle, as i don't think i have given immi the name of my sponsor yet, but just indicated in the visa application that my sponsor was a brother.

Why do you need a sponsor for a 175 visa?

Ahh don't see why you couldn't use the one in Perth after 2 years he would be considered settled.

Strange they haven't asked for his sponsorship paperwork yet then before asking for your PCCs and meds.

Maybe someone who has done a 176 will be able to help with the process more.

Family........who'd have 'em

actually
now that i think of it i think i did upload his birth certificate, family tree etc to prove his relationship to me and said he was my sponser

i will just have to check online when i get home this evening.

would it make any difference to change sponsor now if i have nominated the brother in sydney?
i suppose i could upload new documents and a cover letter outlining why iam changing sponsor.

You could use change in circumstances form, it is designed just for that. Form number 1022 (1023???) if memory serves.
