sponsor family to Australia
My question is about the Remaining Relative Visa (offshore subclass 115). I am in the process of applying for my Skilled – Independent (Migrant) visa (subclass 175) for myself and my family (wife and two children).Gaining this visa should not be a problem as i have enough points. However my question is my brother in law has asked if we could sponsor him and his family (Wife and two children ) to australia as it is something they have always wanted to do but do not have the points to apply.
How long after we recieve our 175 visa can i sponsor my brother in law and his family?
Thanks for any help,
regards.

Does he or his wife still have relatives in the UK?

Thank you grayling for your response.
Yes, they both would have parents left in the UK.
Is that significant?

That visa is for people whose all other close relatives are in Australia - ie they are alone and family-less in their home country. It's a family reunion type of visa.
If he has parents in the UK - he can't really be described as the remaining relative .
The DIAC website quite clearly states:
"This visa is for you if...
you and your spouse have no brothers, sisters, children, parents (or step-equivalents) other than those in Australia."
