Default Speed of processing..

We applied for our 176 visa on 1 July 2010. Owing to the changes in processing times, we were granted our Visa on 27 June 2011

However, this has meant we have had to alter a lot of our plans as we were banking on the original 18 -24 months processing times, and now we will have to fork out for a validation trip instead of just making the move in one full swoop.

I am amazed at how quickly our Visa has been granted and was just wondering how quickly others have had theirs granted....

That must be the first thread ever talking about DIAC moving too fast! Seriously though as you really can't move straight away and HAVE to just validate, thats gonna cost a fair bit of cash.
Interesting to hear the other side instead of just the people who end up waiting longer than they expected.

40 minutes for me...must still be pretty much a record

Spouse Visas in the UK in those days (2003) were done over the counter at Aus House, hand in the paperwork, leave with a visa. 40 minutes start to finish

Actually even I'm a bit surprised that priority 4 visas (formerly prio 3 visas) are being allocated rather faster than expected. The backlog has been catching up, going forward 3 months for every one month. Nice!
