South Australia State Sponsorship/Migration Plan(merged threads)
Hi All - I received below email from South Australia related to validity of my state sponsorship which I got in May 2010. It states that my nominated occupation (2231-79 oracle Specialist) should be in DIAC's new SOL (It's not there) but there is no mention of SOL Schedule4 which has my nominated occupation. Does this means that I can't apply for application 176
"Immigration SA would like to draw your attention to the approval for Sponsorship granted to you by Immigration SA. This is to advise you that your Sponsorship approval for this application will remain valid until 7 July 2010. The 60 day validity period usually afforded to Sponsorship applications will not apply in this instance.
1 You should check to see if your Nominated Occupation is on DIAC’s new Skilled Occupations List (SOL). To view DIAC’s Skilled Occupations List, visit: http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...ccupations.pdf AND
2 If your Nominated Occupation is on the new SOL and you have not already lodged your visa application with DIAC, you should do so as soon as you can when DIAC re-instates their visa application system on or after 1 July 2010. However, if you have already lodged your visa application with DIAC before they shut-down their system on 8 May 2010, your Sponsorship application will remain valid and confirmation will be provided to DIAC when the TRN is entered on the Online Client Tracking System.
3 If your Nominated Occupation is not on DIAC’s new Skilled Occupations List, your Sponsorship application/approval will not be valid and you should monitor our website for updates on future Sponsorships.
Once again, this is to advise you that if you have not yet lodged your visa application with DIAC, you should confirm that your Nominated Occupation is on the new Skilled Occupations List and if it is, you must lodge your visa application with DIAC before 7 July 2010, or the Sponsorship approval will lapse and no longer be valid "
Is my understanding correct?
If states don't respect SOL schedule4 then why it was introduced?

Re: SA don't consider SOL Schedule4
Schedule 4 is only for the new State Migration Plans as per the link in hte top sticky thread.
You have an old style State Sponsorship which they could have invalidated straight away but are allowing to stand if and only if your nominated occupation is on the new SOL (scedule 3).
I'm not an expert on the ACS intrigue but I thought that non of the specialisation codes translated to any of the new lists and that you'd need to get re-assessed anyway?

Re: SA don't consider SOL Schedule4
I am in the same situation and got the same email If only SA would declare it's SMP occupations list before 7th of july, we could estimate our VISA application future.
I dont expect 261399 to be on the any of the SMP list as it is too much generic and it contains too much variotion in occupations like DBA, Network Specialist, Developer/Programmers, LINUX etc etc. Why would any state add it in their SMP list?
Re-assessment should have been free for all applicant having a valid assessment letter with application not being lodged. But these are just good expectations which are not the part of reality.
I am also planning to go for re-assessment after 7th of july.

hi r_1159, why do you say goodbye Australia?! in your signature; the assessment is from EA and valid for a lifetime, just your letter stating positive outcome must be dated within 1 year of your GSM application, and those are about to begin getting accepted by DIAC soon enough... the suspension was till June 30th, if m not mistaken ?!
I am also a Civil Engineer and would like to follow your timeline for reference...is 8th Jan 2010 the date of "sending" your CDR application to EA? please inform...

I had a bad luck in Australian immigration.
I sent my docs on 8th jan to EA and got positive answer on 21 APR,
EA wasted my time and chance of success by assessing my application in 4 moths while It takes 3 weeks only for a washington accored applicat
Anyway, Let us see what happens next

5 pts and a parable...
all things come to those who wait...
dude, timing is always our fault or nobody's fault; never that of the system, we should be grateful for a positive assessment from a world-acclaimed body such as EA!
re, the 5 pts, u could earn the extra needed by workin 3/4 yrs before apping to the DIAC, or via a partners quals provided u get married and submit a joint app?

South Australia - Schedule4 is not implemented
Hi,
This is for all who is planning to lodge Application 176 under schedule4 of SOL. As per South Australia, SMP is still not finalised hence Schedule4 is not applicable at this moment. Please see the reply I received from South Australia related to this.
"In response to your e-mail enquiry, as stated in point 3 in our initial e-mail - If your Nominated Occupation is not on DIAC’s new Skilled Occupations List, your Sponsorship application/approval will not be valid and you should monitor our website for updates on future Sponsorships.
In response to your question regarding SOL Schedule4 (State Migration Plans with ANZSCO codes), DIAC (and not Immigration SA) announced changes to General Skilled Migration on 8 February 2010, http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener.../whats-new.htm and DIAC and the South Australian State Government have not finalised the State Migration Plans.
Following the announcement by the Federal Minister for Immigration and Citizenship many applicants/prospective migrants have raised concerns over what the changes may mean for them.
DIAC has indicated that, once the revised SOL is introduced, state and territory governments may be able to sponsor applicants with a nominated occupation listed on a State Migration Plan (SMP). This may include occupations not included on the new SOL. Occupations listed on an SMP will attract the second highest processing priority (behind employer sponsored) by DIAC.
It is expected that the SMPs will identify occupations in which migration is required to supplement supply available from the local labour market and will be introduced around the middle of 2010, however no date has been set by or agreed to by South Australia and DIAC.
Information about the SMP will be available on this website when it is finalised: http://www.migration.sa.gov.au/sa/migrate_from_overseas/visa_options/gen_skill3.jsp"

News about SA SMP
I got an email from SA, stating that my application could be processed under SMP if I am interested
But something worries me, Apart of new occupation list, It seems that there are some new criteria being put by SA for application
here is what they mentioned in their email
"Note that to obtain an approval, your current application must include a Nominated Occupation that is on the new List AND you meet all the criteria under the State Migration Plan"
Please advice
What are the new criteria being put by them ?
Regards

Is South Australia State Sponsorship open again?
I have noticed that the page on South Australia state sponsorship website where state sponsorship related news is updated, is not opening ( following link refers to that)
http://www.migration.sa.gov.au/sa/mi...gen_skill3.jsp
Also, a download-able pdf of state sponsorship occupations list is available which lists my current occupation (2231-79 C# specialist). following link refers to that.
http://www.migration.sa.gov.au/publi...ad.jsp?id=7959
It seems to be silly question but is this the SMP list for SA? or is it the old and outdated ASCO occupations list for state sponsorship?

That is the old list showing ASCO codes dated April 2010.
The website makes it clear they will not be accepting state sponsorship applications for new applicants until the new SMP is finalised, which is not likely to be before August. No choice but to be patient and wait...
