Default Skills Matching

Is the skills matching visa also a 70 pointer similar to the STNI?

Could someone also detail what the differences are between skills matching and STNI?

Thanks

Rob

Default Re: Skills Matching

The Skills Matching visa backed by a State Nomination isn't significantly different to the Skilled - State Territory Nominated Independent visa, Rob - except that the former only requires one to have worked in a skilled occupation for 6 out of the last 12 months, and so the Skills Matching visa can be the only viable pathway where the profile of recent work experience is such that the applicant cannot wait to acquire the work experience for the Skilled - STNI visa.

As an example, we had one client where the TRA deeming date was within 12 months of his 45th birthday. He attained a State Nomination from the VIC Government and obtained his permanent residency visa via a Skills Matching application.

Best regards.
