Default Skills Assessment unsuccesful

Hi

Was hoping for some help, just received a letter back form the skills assessment today and totally gutted as they are saying the application is unsuccessful. My husband is a printer and we sent in evidence of his certificates, statement from his work etc and the reasons we have failed are:

Failed to demonstrate 900 hours of structured training
No qualification provided to demonstrate the applicant has completed formal training we sent in the college certificate with all the evidence on that
The evidence provided fails to demonstrate completion of the 5 year period directly related and relevant employment and training set out in section 10.1 of the UAC

Just wanted to know if anybody else had their initial skills assessment sent back but qualified the 2nd time?????

we are waiting to hear back. got invoice at weekend for $600 to pay. Have you had to pay that and then got the unsuccesful letter?
I would possibly recommend emailing them. I did at the beginning and they were really helpful.

Yep, we've seen this several times, particularly with applicants who lodged an application without assistance first time around.

Consider discussing with a competent firm of migration advisors.

Best regards.

It might be worth while running it by an agent.
If you've just got to clear those issues up and the rest is fine, they may help you out for a reduced fee.
I'd have thought the NVQ would have counted as training.
I did two courses at college. One for a year and one for two and the hours worked out at going on for 5000.
I'm applying under Graphics/Pre-press so not a million miles from your OH's occupation.

I wouldn't give up if I were you.
It's very common for people pass the second time around, usually after a little help from an agent.

We know exactly how you feel. My husbands application was refused the first time, we had tried to do it ourselves and felt quite confident, we were given plenty of advice off this site and by friends who had previously applied, so were shocked to get a knock back.

We were then given the name of an agent who specialises in skills assessments, sent him all the stuff and he lodged an appeal for us. Second time round were successful.

I would highly recommend our agent, if you need his name send me a message.

Gill

Hi Scottyboy

My husband is a gravure printer and I think when he qualified it was changing from NQ to SVQ or something so his certificate shows a breakdown of the modules achieved and he needs a certificate which states the actual qualification anyway he has been doing the job for13 years since he was an apprentice and has loads of experience so hopefully we will find a way of giving them the info they need he's a tiler as well but has no formal qualifications as he was trained off his uncle so we cant go down that road either :curse:
