Default Skills assessment original copy

I know it says to send certified copies of documents other than PCC, but i'm sure I have read you have to send original skills assessment. Am I right or just dillusional?!
Also, is it normal to keep putting off sending your application only to go through it one more time (for the 100th time) to check you have read anything and included everything that is needed?!

You should send the original after keeping a certified photocopy of the skills assessment advice.

Hi Georgiagal

Yes it has to be the original and yes it is extremely normal to keep reading it and reading it and reading it !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Once it has gone you then spend the time wondering if everything was okay with the application until you get the acknowledgement.

Must admit that I only sent a certified copy of the returned assessment, along with all the supporting documentation I sent with the original application. What happens if you send the original and it gets lost in the post?

Yes exactly, then you're screwed. And in addition to that, if your application would end up with a negative result, you will also lose your assessment paper.

So I reckon a certified copy would do, and if DIMA requires the original then they will inform you.

Oh hang on, I've just read this on the checklist for my visa:

Evidence to attach to your application
To lodge a valid application you must provide a certified copy of a skills assessment by a relevant assessing authority for your nominated skilled occupation.

Panic over!

Hi

We sent the original and kept the certified copy.

Someone my oh works with is going through the process, couple of months ahead of us, he sent a certified copy but said they asked him for the original, so he suggested to us to send it to save time.

Dont know why when they ASK for a certified copy of it.

Think i'll send the cert. copy and the original receipt from VETASSESS. Few more weeks of torturous waiting can't hurt too much if they request the original!
Thanks guys

They might not even request it, we just went along with advise we were given from hubby's colleague who did this

Good luck
