Default Skilled visa and partnership

Hi,

My partner is applying for a AUS skilled visa and I am not sure about a couple of things that I need to get done:

1. Do I have to get assessed
2. Do I need to get a medical
3. Do I need to get a police check

My partner is British and I am canadian and we have been living together for over three years in england. Do we need to provide proof of our relationship as well?

Any help would be great!

Thanks

Yes, you need to have a medical.
You do not need to get a skills assessment unless your partner is claiming 5 points for spouse skills.
You will need a police check from every country you have lived in for 12 cumulative months or more in the past 10 years. You can apply through the RCMP, or if you are planning a trip back to Canada in the near future get one done at your local police station while you are there. We got ours done at Halton Police HQ in Ontario in about 5 or 6 days.
You will need to provide proof of your relationship in the form of statutory declarations, mortgage/bank statements, bills, anything really that proves you have shared a home for more than 12 months.

Hi,

Do I have to be in Canada to request a police check? Or am I able to request this from the UK?

From RCMP you can request it from UK. If you do a local one you will need to be in Canada. Here's how to get a records check...http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/crimrec/finger_e.htm
