Default Skilled Sponsored to Victoria

Hi

I received the following mail to me from the Victorian Government. I couldn't figure out what does this exactly mean.

1) Did they really Sponsored me ?
2) Should I apply for ACS using this category ?

your suggestions are highly in order to clarify this.

*****START MAIL

SUBJECT : Skilled Sponsored <Candidate Full Name> SS-2010-****

Dear <Candidate Full Name>,

Thank you for the information you sent to the Victorian Government's Skilled and Business Migration Program. The reference number is SS-2010-****. The nominated occupation is 261399 Software and Applications Programmers nec.

To be eligible for sponsorship by the Victorian Government an applicant must first have an occupation on the Victorian Government Sponsorship Eligibility List. The eligibility list identifies skills in demand in Victoria, and is regularly updated to take into account changes in industry requirements for skilled professionals and tradespeople. The eligibility list is an indication only of those occupations in demand in Victoria and having an occupation on this list does not guarantee sponsorship.

The application will be processed and reviewed for Victorian Government nomination. This process may take up to twelve weeks and you will be advised of the outcome as soon as a decision has been made. We request that you do not enquire on the progress of the application during this period.

The Skilled and Business Migration Program has no legal authority to deal with migration requirements or points required for migration. Any questions regarding migration beyond Victorian Government sponsorship should be directed to the Australian Government’s Department of Immigration and Citizenship (DIAC). See the DIAC website www.immi.gov.au for more information.

Please contact us if you require further information about the Victorian Government’s Skilled and Business Migration Program.

Please quote Reference Number : SS-2010-**** in all of your communication to us.

This is the acknowledgment email for your application as you can see..it is just telling you that your state sponsorship application is in process and will take 12 weeks approximately for a result.

The category for ACS is for you to decide depending upon your experience and education.. how did you then select 261399?

Seriously, you mean to say that you ACTUALLY DIDN'T specify any occupation when applying for the state sponsorship?

Shall i Start my ACS process by requesting the above mentioned code
Is it that you already have an assessment from ACS, probably with an old ASCO code?

hi

I selected "ICT Business Analyst - 261111" within the application. But they categorized me as Software and Applications Programmers nec - 261399

According to my knowledge they already categorized me as Software and Applications Programmers nec - 261399. Is that so ?

Still I didnt make any assessments form the ACS. For the first time I'm going to apply for ACS. That's why I'm asking from you , Should I apply for the ACS and request the 261399 code ?

Im very much new to this process. So your suggesstions are highly.

tnx

You selected "ICT Business Analyst - 261111" because you believe your job is that of a ICT Business Analyst? Or is it you selected it at random?

According to my knowledge they already categorized me as Software and Applications Programmers nec - 261399. Is that so?

You should apply to ACS basing on WHAT YOU DO and not anything else. ACS doesn't have any say in what Victoria State says about your occupation.

Q2.2 Occupation you will be nominating on your Department of Immigration And Citizenship (DIAC) application *
Network Analyst 263113
In another thread, you mentioned that you selected "Network Analyst 263113" as the occupation you will nominate on DIAC app. This is inconsistent with "ICT Business Analyst" you asked Victoria to assess your application under.

Do you realise this mistake?

hi

Sorry for the inconvenience made. I did a mistake. Let me put this way,
I filled the VIC form with "Network Analyst 263113 "

During my detailed CV attached to the VIC I mentioned Network Security and Linux System Admin Roles which currently I'm involving.

Then they replied me " The nominated occupation is 261399 Software and Applications Programmers nec. "

Since I didn't do a ACS assessment , Now Im going to apply for the ACS requesting the 261399 code ?

Is it possible me to obtain 261399 code from the ACS ?

tnx

Hi dilruk336,

Sorry to tell you this. Assessment is the first step and you cannot get state sponsorship without it.

Lodge your ACS assessment first, in an occupation which you think is suitable for your experience. Once you are successfully assessed, then you can go ahead and think about sponsorship.

are you ready with ACS letter to submit in course of the process (if you submit without ACS letter, they might ask you in between the process before finalizing)? ACS itself will require 3 months approx

a basic understanding of the whole process is first required. pls go through the below links for an understanding of the process. It will help you get some idea of the entire process and then clarify your doubts on the forum...

http://www.immi.gov.au/allforms/booklets/1119.pdf

http://www.acs.org.au/index.cfm?acti...killassessment

Also, if you apply without any idea and get rejected you lose an opportunity for next 6 months, and keep in mind that the whole point system is changing in the next 6-7 months

hi

tnx a lot for your response.I need some advice from you in order to apply for the ACS.

"also note that 261399 is no more issued by ACS, only ANZSCO codes are issued" what does this exactly mean ?

following immi site mentioned there are differnt categories under "261399 Software and Applications Programmers nec " category by considering the specilization.

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/gener...-in-demand.htm

ANZSCO Occupation ANZSCO Code

Software and Applications Programmers – Linux * 261399

Software and Applications Programmers – specialising
in Network Security/ Firewall/ Internet Security * 261399

Im Specialized in above both categories.

Since VIC state that Im nominating for the 261399 , can I request above mentioned code and specilization from ACS ?

your responses are highly

pls check this link

http://www.immi.gov.au/skilled/sol/

See: Skilled Occupation List (SOL) – Schedule 3 (136KB PDF file)

SOL 3 is the current list

ACS might give you an assessment in 261399 but i dont think it will be of much use, maybe you can apply for VIC, but if they reject then options for 261399 are very few..instead see if any of the occupations on SOL suits your role and experience..

oz_dreamz09 is right...go for a skill in SOL 3 rather than ANZ 261399 (nec)... since this code will be used very rarely by ACS and mostly pppeopleho come under this are of old skskillsssessment 2231-79 (skill)...and for ASCO-ANZSCO code conversion...and its wise and safe to apply as system analyst software engineet etc. rather that wasting your time and money in reassessing the codes again with ACS (as many of us did) ..Moreover...many states are offering sponsorships to skills in SOL 3 too like SA....So better choose your options wisely...

regards
Bob

hi all ,

I would like to know the code provided by VIC with having the both Network Security and Linux System Admin Experience.

Because I had both above experience but their acknowledgment letter they nominated me as Software and Applications Programmers Nec(261399) category. They still take 12 weeks for further processing.

Is there any one else got this particular code with having the above mentioned experience ? or else assign a different code ?

whats the difference between ICT Security Specialist-262112 and Software & Applications Programmers NEC specialising in Network Security/ Firewall/ Internet Security-261399 ?

your suggestions are highly.
