Skilled designated area sponsored - Relationship Evidence
Hi
I am apply under the skilled designated area sponsered category. My
wife is the primary applicant since she has the relative in aussie. I
have a problem proving the first cousin relationship because my wife's
mother does not have a birth certificate as she was not issued one at
the time of birth at that time. I have attached some other documents as
well as an affidavit that shows that my wife and the sponsors mother
are sisters.
Is there anything else I can do in this regards to prove this
relationship.
Should I provide contact details of other relations to verify this
relationship.
Thanks
Kodi.

Re: Skilled designated area sponsored - Relationship Evidence
we are skilled sponsored also and i am the primary applicant with an aunt in oz as our sponsor, i assume the aunty (mother to the cousin) doesnt live in oz otherwise they could sponsor you, maybe stat decs from other relatives - what about passport information or driving licence information? isnt there some way of getting hold of the birth certificate? as we all have to have "proof of birth" for identification, i am sure somebody will have something somewhere, we all have a paper trail from the day we are born?
otherwise the info you have about her mother and the affadavit is about all you can do i suppose.
sorry i cant be of any further help to you
regards

Re: Skilled designated area sponsored - Relationship Evidence
My fathers name did not show up on my birth certificate - but we had the same surnames etc. so I supplied an affidavit from both my mother and father confirming that he is my father.
Dimia replied that a statutory declaration is not acceptable as proof of blood relationship. In the end we were able to obtain his original divorce contract where child custody arrangements and responsibilities were described... which Dimia suggest would be fine.
The other means that they mentioned was DNA tests and Wills.
