hi all,

can anyone tell me if scaffolding is regarded as skilled labour as I cannot find it on the SOL,and I know of scaffolders workiing in oz!

Hi

Scaffolder is a recognised occupation in Australia (ACSO code 7913-11). However as you mentioned it is not on the skilled occupations list. This means that although they recognise the occupation, they do not have a shortge of them in Australia and you cannot apply to emigrate on the basis of being a skilled scaffolder.

It might be worth speaking to an agent to

1) confirm whether what I have said is true or not (although I suspect it is)
2) discuss possible alternative visas.
