do i need to have the money i hope to make on my house in the bank before i apply for my visa. Or ARE DIMIA happy to take my word that i will have x amount of money.


2, how much money do you think is acceptable to have and does this determine wether you will need assurance of support wont be able to make $100k.

the $100k should be the last thing they ask for, however they only give you 70 days to send proof of having invested the money. From the letter I got asking for mine, they will not extend this date at all. I applied for my visa in Feb, put house on market at Easter and now looks like I am competing on the house the same day as I'm supposed to deliver all the docs ... so its a bridging loan for me for a few weeks!

I'm no expert, but to answer your second question I would say it's $100k when they ask for it, or nothing. Do a search on this website, plenty of useful stuff around on this subject. Try and see if you can find a post from someone like George Lombard - he's one of the the real experts round here.
