salary should be included in reference letter?
I want to ask my team lead for a reference, but he may not know my salary. I searched the forum and seems that I need a letter from HR too. Is that right?
or one reference from my team lead is enough.
Thank you so much in advanced for any help!

If you weren't wanting to let your TL know your salary, then it may be easier just getting the complete reference from HR. Either way, its important to get all the info they outline as its used in both the skills assessment (prior to you submitting your visa) and by dept of immi. It avoids any potentialy delays later where they may come back and ask for more info.

The document checklist details exactly what is needed on your reference and that includes salary details and a detailed description of your job title and duties...
It isn't like a normal reference so pay attention to what they need to have in there... most of us wrote the reference for our employer and they just ok'd it printed it off on the headed paper and signed!!

Employer references
In order for the ACS to assess whether an applicant is in a skilled occupation acceptable for skills assessment purpose, the applicant must provide detailed and descriptive employer references highlighting his/her expertise in the claimed specialisation.
These must be on company letterhead and include the job title, detailed job description and precise dates of employment. They should also clearly state whether employment was full or part-time along with demonstrated levels of competence with any computer languages, the various types of hardware and software used and the extent of involvement with any major projects. Letters of appointment or contracts are not accepted.
References covering a minimum of four (4) or six (6) years full-time equivalent are recommended. (see Current Guidelines).
Part-time experience may be included on a pro-rata basis if the applicant can demonstrate that they have been employed for a minimum of 20 hours/week.
Full-time experience is defined as 38 hours or more per week.
Applicants applying under Skills Assessment may also be requested by the Assessor to provide the Project Report (8KB -doc) at the assessor's discretion.

Typically you'd want to just get the one reference which covers both the ACS and dept of immi requirements. I've got a feeling that its immi that ask for the salary to be included.

I wish you a speedy grant, but until you have all of the documents uploaded, they won't even put you on the pile to be processed.... so GET A MOVE ON MAN!!!!!

Re: salary should be included in reference letter?
"the letter should indicate the exact period of employment (including whether permanent or temporary, full or part-time), position(s) held, the 5 main duties undertaken and the salary earned - ...."
hmm.. 1 question, it says 5 main duties... does that mean we shouldn't specify more than that???

Re: salary should be included in reference letter?
When you say reference do you mean a statement of service that confirms your salary, hours and grade/band?
No reference check should ask for your salary but the letter of service that will confirm your current grade/band for your new employer so they can pay you accordingly does and needs to come from your HR dept. Usually you need this letter to be given the salary level in the new job
