Default Rsms

Just wondered how hard it would be to convince an employer to sponsor you on the RSMS visa, and who generally has the best chance of securing employment(plumber, plasterer, other).
Have not yet got a trade and the cost of getting one is 5k plus so i want to make the right decision, any info would be great.

We came in on RSMS visa and we discussed being sponsored with employer - they weren't looking for Brits as such. They needed someone to fill job though so went with us!

Can't comment on trades though as not my area ... good luck. If you search on the general Australia forum I think there's quite a lot on individual trades and how easy/hard it's been for others to find work.

It more than likely depends on which skills are in demand at the time you apply, I don't think anyone will be able to answer this question accurately.

One thing to remember though is that most trades (electrician's, plumbers etc) need a licence to work, so you'd need to not only find someone willing to sponser you to work, but someone who would also be willing to help you get licenced. If you do go for one of these trades, then see what you need to do for licencing etc in each state before you start.
