Default RRV 155

Hi
Thank you in advance to you wonderful people on this forum. I am not on here so much these days so perhaps knew the answer to my question at some point but can't see it now!
I am in the UK as I haven't yet made a permanent move and have a 155 RRV 1 year visa because of my ties. I am back in Australia again this year. If on my next visit I decide to stay on to work, whatever the period I stay for (eg 2 years), do I still have to apply for another RRV to leave Aus and return? Is there any period of stay in Aus that would give me the option if leaving the country without the need for a visa?
Thank you

Hey Pete - until you get AU Citizenship, you always need a valid visa for entry into the country.

Thanks for that. How long typically would I need to resident in AUS for before applying for Citizenship?

So each year whilst in AU I apply for an RRV so as I can leave for a holiday and be able to return is that correct? Thank you

- 4 years
- Correct. After 2 years cumulative residence in the prior 5 years you will get a 5 year RRV
