Residency Timescales
We have been granted permenant residency status on the 9th September. It is going to take us about a year to get ready, so we won't be going until Aug 09. Due to some aged relatives, we are likely to have to return to the UK for some period of time. Our visa expires in 2013. Are there any rules about how long you have to be resident in OZ fror you to be able to remain there? Our fear is that we will get there, have to return to the UK for about 4 - 6 months and then not have enought time left to reach the 4 years you need to gain citizenship. If, for example, we only manage to be in OZ for 3 out of the next 5 years, will we be required to leave, or is there something else we need to do?
