Just make sure any agent you use is MARA registered. All Australian-based agents have to be. Agents overseas do not, but the better ones will be.

Thanks Buzzy-Bee.

Are you ex britt.

I am looking for a companies in the UK that we can go to and discuss all what is needing done.

We were originally looking to go on a sponsor but the company I feel have been messing us about a bit and would just rather go through the propper channels and look for work when we get there.

Thanks again.

Hi, you will be restricting yourself a bit if you choose an agent physically local to you. I never met my agent ever - he was in Sydney. I chose him as he specialised in my area of employment and had a 100% success rate.

So please don't rule out using an agent in Australia.

There are a few that post on the immigration section of this forum.

Default Recomend an agent?

Hi all, I am looking for an agent with a good record and has dealt with my line of work in the past, I am living and from Ireland, and my trade is a fibrous plasterer, I have read somewhere else that it is better to get an agent from oz to process my application. Had anyone any experience with some agents or recommend some.
Thanks in advance

What visa do you plan to come over on if you are going to come and look for work here?

As Buzzy says, your agent does not need to be in your area. Many people use agents they never actually meet. Also as he says, make sure whoever you use is MARA registered and if you meet with an agency in the UK you speak to an actual registered agent and not their overseas representative (who can be anyone).

Your first stop should be www.immi.gov.au

Hello Offski,
As the other posters have mentioned there is no real need to chose an agent that is physically located near you. Most applicants never actually meet their agent as everything can be done online nowadays.

My advice to you would be to get quotes from a few agents (both UK and Aus based) and then do a bit of investigation on the ones whose quotes you are happy with.

I hope this helps.

Regards
