Relevance of work experience (NZ)
Hi there,
I am planning to apply for NZ soon, and I would like to ask for
advice.
I have a degree in computers engineering (which involves both hardware
and software areas) so I guess I can be called 'IT specialist'.
I also have some experience (before getting my degree) as electronic
technician.
Does this experience is relevance to my qualification ?
This is from the NZIS website:
-------------------------------
Work experience is considered relevant to a qualification where the
NZIS is satisfied that the qualification was:
* an important factor in the principal applicant being able to obtain
work or continue or advance in the position or field of work in which
they have experience;or
* an important factor in a career path that has advanced progressively
from the principal applicant 's pre-qualification work experience.
--------------------------------
I used this work experience, since it was an important factor in my
carrer path, toward the degree.
I will be happy to have your opinions here.
Thanks !

Re: Relevance of work experience (NZ)
Have you checked if there will be work for you if successful. NZ does not
run a command/planned economy so the fact you are accepted is no indication
you will get a job. Driving taxis is not very rewarding.

Re: Relevance of work experience (NZ)
I hope I will find one.
I certainly won't drive taxis there. ( I will leave back if so... )
I will be happy to get your feedback about the relevance of the
experience to the qualification.
