the reason i ask is,my previous last 2 employers,gave me a bit of a hard
time when i left there company,and even one said "you`ll never get a
reference from us" gulp

i understand it has to be on letter headed paper ,which may be a problem as
i dont have access to the offices/letterheaded paper,but would try gain one
somehow

since we all have to send certified copy`s,does the original ever go
anywhere?

any advise would be grateful,as i am just about to start my tra assessment
and need to be sure of my chances beforehand

Craig If possible for TRA purposes you need the person who trained you to provide the reference if possible. However you immediate boss may be able to do it. I got my immediate manager to do it and it was fine. There may be a chance they phone HR and things go a little wrong as they are unaware of your situation.

the thing is,my learning was done mostly at college and my previous bosses
just gave me employment,and had no part in the training,they just paid my
wages

However i did learn from other joiners within the companys who would vouch
for me but cannot be named trainers,just colleague`s

i could perhaps get a solid reference from college stating maybe a trainee
ship took place,and the tutor/s would vouch for this

Why not send both.

Statements from a colleague, preferably a supervisor / manager and also one from the tutor.

Better to go with too much than not enough
