Hi everybody,

Can anyone tell me the status of Skilled Independant Category for Australian PR. Is
there quota still there for those applied in April 2001. How muct time generally it
takes in getting visa granted from the time of filing for PR? I will be very glad If
someone share with me his/her date of filing an application under this category from
India and actual visa grant date.

Hi ME! Well we had put in our papers in begining on June & by the end of June we got
our file number. However, till now we have not got any news on the medicals & police
clearance. Was informed by our agent that the current processing time for this
category is 44 weeks from the date of file number. We are now in the 38th week and
are praying to hear good news soon.

We too are indian but are currently in the Gulf. Applied from the gulf hoping that
things will work out faster, did not work.
