Hi All,
I am new here and I am so glad to join this great wealthy forum.
I have a question that crossed mind when I Read an information about Australian Department of Immigration in this forum and other forums.
In fact, I’ve applied for the Skilled Independent Visa (Subclass 175) with paper based application without agent about 3 months ago.
Before that, I’ve applied also for permanent residency in Quebec -Canada about 9 months ago (via a migration agent) and now I am waiting for the interview with the counselor for the issue of Certificat de sélection du Québec(CSQ – Québec Selection Certificate).
During filling up the form 1276 of 175- GSM Visa , I didn’t mentioned any information about my application to Quebec.
I am wondering if this won’t affect my PR application to Australia since Canada and Australia share a database about prospect migrants.
Another question, is it possible for a person to get two permanent residency from Canada and Australia at the same time.
Any feedback will be significantly valued.

I am sure there is not reason why you cannot apply for both.
However, how would you keep them both? Are you going to be flitting between countries for a couple of years at a time?
If so, then you would never progress to Australian citizenship and I don't know the rules for Canadian citizenship.
Why not decide which you want to live in and just apply there.

thank you Bermudashorts for you reply
Once I get a PR visa from Canada or Australia, I will drop the other .
So I am ready to loose one PR but I am afraid I loose both of them.

The idea of being granted a visa is that it's based on the fact you are committing to living and working in that country. By having two applications to two different countries surely means you don't have that commitment?
Sadly I have a feeling that it won't have a bearing but it should do. Is there not a question on the form asking if you've ever applied for a visa to another country?

But why waste your energy and money on two applications? It isn't like applying for a job, if you meet the visa criteria you will get a visa, so there is no need to hedge your bets.

I know one family who has done it three PR (NZ, Australia, and Canada) and got them all. So it is possible to get many PRs if you are qualified.
the problem is how to maintain them. what i can suggest you to do is try to get your australian pr first, and then delay the issuance of canadian pr until 3 years after you have lived in australia.
you can delay the issuance of canadian pr: due pregnancy, impractical reasons for landing etc. you will need to do the costly medical though.
after getting your austrlaian citizenship, you still have enough time to start your canadian pr.
cheers
