Hi all
My husbands due to take his carpentry assessment on the 14th of October in Glasgow,he was just wondering wether you are allowed to use a ready rekna (excuse the spelling) during the roofing section ??????also what type of questions are you asked, hes starting to stress a bit now
any replies would be good, it all helps !!!!!

oh did carpentry in accrington, he says he didn't think anyone used a ready thingy but he thinks you can, he said the assesors just said to do things the way you usually do!?!

he failed on the roof, he makes kitchens and hadn't done a roof since he was at tech 10 years ago!! he studied like mad for the second test.

Clacton on sea in Essex (about an hour from London)have you lodged your visa application yet ??

yeah, applied in may, doing r meds and xray next week

some may applicants already have their visa's

Just wondered, do you have to set out/fit the crown rafter on the roof as this always gives me problems:curse: i don't do many roofs apart from trusses. Also what sort of questions are asked about shuttering, again not something you do every day

My husband is also a carpenter and we are strongly considering a move to Australia. So far we have completed the competency profile and the next step is the practical assessment, I think the next ones in London are in April so we are trying to prepare as much as possible. We were wondering how you got on with the practical assessment...any advice or tips? Is it a full 2 day interview? What sort of questions did they ask in the end? I hope that it all went well!
