Queries on applying as Real Estate Representative?
Dear All,
I am new to this forum and this is my first ever post. I intend to apply for Australian immigration and for that i have been exploring options for quite long. Please have a look at my brief profile below;
Age: 30, IELTS: 7 (in each module), Qualification: Masters in Economics (16 years of education), Experience: Over 6 years as Risk Manager at leading commercial Bank of Pakistan and over 5 years part-time experience as real estate agent.
My only problem is that my basic profession i.e. Risk Manager (Banker) does not fall under any SOL and that's why I have decided to apply for 190 (Western Australia) since they do have the category of Real Estate Representative in their SOL. But before i do that, I would like to have your feedback on the following;
1) Whether my part-time working experience of over 5 years at one of the leading Real Estate Developer and Builder Company as ‘Real Estate Representative’ qualifies me to claim points for work experience when at the same time I have also been working full time as a Risk Manager (Banker) at a commercial Bank? In week days, I work for almost 2 hours a day as a Real Estate Representative but since most of the real estate property related business take place on Saturdays and Sundays so I work almost 8 hours a day on Weekends that makes up the total working hours of around 25 hours/week.
Please note that I do not have any licensing or registration as a real estate represnetative because neither is required here in pakistan.
2) When I apply to VETASSESS for skill assessment then do I have to provide document pertaining to real estate profession only or should I provide documentation about my banking experience as well?
3) Based on my profile, do you suggest me any other category/option for immigration?
Looking forward o your response.
Regards,
Roposh

Registration/ Licensing for Real Estate Representative?
Hi,
I intend to apply for assessment to vetassess for 'Real Estate Representative', however, before doing that just wanted to confirm if the registration or licensing is a pre-requisite/ must for applying under the 'Real Estate Representative' Category.
I'll appreciate if someone can clarify this and save me the time and money to apply for skill assessment.
regards,
ROPOSH

Your case sounds very odd indeed. A Risk Manager in Banking by day and also a full time RE rep? Can you prove these hours? I would suggest a professional consultation.

Re: Queries on applying as Real Estate Representative?
He actually said part time 25 hours a week.
As far as I have been told, which maybe totally wrong, I think you need a degree to be a real estate representative here.
Have a good look at the job description on immigrations website and see what it says.
I would be surprised if you could get in this way though.

Re: Queries on applying as Real Estate Representative?
Thanks everyone!
@Bermudashorts I know thats why I have sought opinion on the matter. Actually, real estate business is like a family thing so there is no trouble in getting the reference letters, other documents etc. However, the main question is whether VETASSESS shall accept this or not?

Why not contact vetassess and ask?

Apparently you can't, since its part time occupation for you.
See this.
Even if it was your fulltime employment, you probably don't need to submit your other experience for assessment purposes.
VETASSESS defines highly relevant employment to the nominated occupation as paid employment of at least 40 hours per fortnight in which the major everyday tasks closely match the major tasks undertaken in the nominated occupation in Australia and are performed at an appropriate skill level for the nominated occupation in Australia.
