Q on STNI- Sent CV, Recv'd Email Reply.
Hi,
We have a pending 136 application. Recently, my spouse and I sent our CV to SMU Victoria and we got an email saying that it "appears you may have a skill in demand" and 2 attached documents.
I am just wondering what it means:
1. Is this an Auto-reply?
2. Did they have a detailed look in our CV's or did they just do a quick scan?
3. Can we take this as a positive news?
4. Step 4 in the '3B Factsheet' states that "The Skilled Migration Unit will check the current demand for your skills in the Victorian labour market". Haven't they done this already when they sent us the email?
5. Lastly, what if it is my spouse (not the principal applicant) who has the skill on demand?
Thanks.

Hi,
Was just wondering when did you send your cv?
I think what they have sent you is the paperwork to further your application for stni.

1. Yes
2. Probably just a quick look. They delve more deeply when they meet every 8-12 weeks and decide who they are going to pick.
3. No. People on this forum have been turned down after recieving the e-mail you got.
4. No. Again they will check these factors at the meeting. They only pick a certain amount of people at every meeeting.
5. As long your spouse can get a suitable skills assesment you should be okay. Did you both send CV's?
Hope this helps. Good luck.

Hi alton,
Lol sorry i think i may have sent ours to the wronf email address could you please give me the email address you used.
We do have the option of relatives in aus but we would prefer to go stni if possible, as i wouldn't want to put my aunt through all the hassle of the tax returns etc.
Thanks

As others have stated, this is standard fare from the Victoria SMU.
They must still put your credentials before their review panel for
your respective profession to determine if there is really a demand
for your skill in the area, which will result in their decision to
sponsor you or not. Some individuals have waited for many months to be
told no, while others (myself included) waited over 4 months to be
told yes.
