Re: processing times for contributory parent visa
Hope you are all well over there - and how is your wee one?
Check out the 2 Contributory Parent visa theads in the Immigration section. One has just been closed as it is now far too long but has a lot of useful info in it and the other has just been opened. You might want to add your details to it.
I would put the links on here if I was capable of doing that but my IT knowledge doesn't stretch that far

Re: processing times for contributory parent visa
Hi
I can confirm from a recent e-mail from the Perth Offshore Parent Centre that the contributory parent visa's are currently being acknowledged within a couple of weeks but taking approximately 9 months for a case officer to be allocated and then another 3 - 6 months for the grant.
Hope this helps

This info seems to tie in with that given in the CP visa threads elsewhere in this forum - ie approx 14 months all in at present.

Re: processing times for contributory parent visa
hi everyone,
thanks for all the information. so the inlaws are looking at about 14 months, but should get a request for medicals in about 9 months, am i right? Also, once u get a case officer what does this mean, do it mean they start asking for information?
cheers

Re: processing times for contributory parent visa
12 to 15 months may be the timeline presently, but I was advised recently when speaking with a chap at DIAC Central Office that there are presently the equivalent of about 2 years of CP visa applications "in play" - ie received by the Department and not yet decided.
=> Given that there is a cap on the number of visas that can be granted annually, be prepared for processing times to lengthen if the number of visas available is not increased.
Best regards.

Was wondering if these guys bring money into economy and take nothing out, wonder if DIAC might increase capping
