I know its not an easy answer but does anyone know if there is much difference between the processing times for a Contributory Parent Visa (143) applied for offshore and an Aged Contributory Parent (864) applied for onshore obviously.

Also is there any material difference between them (apart form the age test)?

I'm sure I've read quite recently that the processing time for the 864 is very short now- only around 5 months.
Hopefully, someone else will comment for you.
The 143 in my own recent experience is approx 19months.

My parents come over on a CPV 2 years ago and it took them about 2 years to complete the application.
