I thinks there are numerous variables that influence the time required for the completion of these "external checks". But I know of a couple of people who had their checks done in 2-3 months but I also know quite a number of people who have been waiting for more than 20 months now !

Did you mean some guys are waiting for external checks to get clear for 20 months? If that is the case, it is ridiculous to say the least.

I have heard about
1. Routine integrity checks
2.Routine Processing
3.Internal processing

I have not heard about external checks?
can u define it?

As far as I have understood, external checks are security clearance by your own security/intelligence agencies requested by DIAC.

It is not mentioned in the PLE any word like External Checks. This is the requirements of DIAC, thus applicant has nothing to do with that.

Default Processing Speed and Online Applicastion Status Discussion

Almost till 3 weeks ago,the CO allocation process was going at an express pace....
but suddenly it seems like someone has pressed the brakes...they have almost stopped with Nov2008 applicants
Saw the opinon that it could be becoz of the end of the fiscal year....but I feel that wouldnt be the problem....it could only affect the grant of visas, not allocation of case officers.........

Any thoughts?

How do you know that CO allocation has slowed up?
