Have you email DIAC at any point. With documents or an enquiry?

Our status changed when DIAC uploaded our emailed documents. So think it's just an automatic thing when your application is touched by someone but not necessarily for processing or allocated.

Maybe, there is also another status which is "Application being processed further" but again that doesn't mean you have a case officer.

I think once your docs status changes to "Met" that's an indication you have a CO.

My application has been 'processing commenced' since I lodged my visa application on the 12th Feb...it doesn't mean a thing unfortunately, just means they've got ur money and ur visa is lodged.

Aw well, let's find a comfy chair in this waiting room, cos I'd say we'll be here a while yet lol

Tee hee... Its just the being 'in limbo' that makes it the hardest aint it... I mean if we all knew when we'd get the visa, were given a date, then we could just get on with things and have a wee chuff chart to count down til then. Its the not knowing that's the killer, I mean I cant put my house on the market til I get that letter, though that's probably a good thing considering todays market lol

You going over on your own or with family?

Im going over with my boyfriend he is coming on my visa, as his profession isnt on the critical list where as mine is, im a nurse. My brother moved to australia 11 years ago he lives in brisbane so i will stay with him for a couple of months while we find work and somewhere to live.

ive been wanting to go for so long now i just want to get there and start living my life, at the moment my whole life revolves around this bloody visa process. Like you said if we just had a time frame then that would be half the battle as we could then get on with things until that date, but because we dont no if it will be in 3,6,9 or 12 months it so hard. i am hoping that im out there before this coming xmas.

Cool, fingers crossed. My partner is also going, but on a separate, lateral transfer scheme, from the british into the aussie army....he's also unawares of the timescale ahead of him, but knowing my luck, he'll be out there before me lol

My status for the application has been 'processing commenced' since I lodged my visa application on the 20.11.2008. Wait for the CO, as I am doing
