Hi,
This may be a stupid question but once over in Aus on a temporary visa in full time employment how soon can we apply to be permenant residents and what criteria do we have to fufill?

You can't nowadays unless you go down a skilled or family member route. My G/F is doing an accounting degree just to get PR, and she's lived here since the age of 2 months old.

Forgot to ask what kind of visa are you on at the moment? I think you can apply after 2 years if you've already got the temp spouse visa.

It could be possible to apply at any time but it will depend on what type of temp visa and where you will be located.
