Is possible to jump to priority 1 ?
#1
In Q21 of the last FAQ said that the priority processing to permanent applications is:
1. employer sponsorship
2. state or territory sponsorship
3. an occupation on the CSL
4. an occupation on the MODL
5. and then all other applications.
I am currently in priority 3 because I am a computer professional in MODL. I lodged last November. But if they remove my speciality from MODL I will obtain priority 5, and that could happen as soon as next January, what would mean that I might need to wait until mid-2010 to be able to go to Australia
.
I would ask you if it would be possible to jump to priority 1
. So, would it be possible to do this ? :
1. Search through internet in Australian newspapers for job offers.
2. Contact that employers.
3. Ask them to give me a sponsorship.
4. Tell immigration that, now, I have a employer sponsorship.
5. Jump to priority 1, which would mean that I could go to Australia as soon as next july
.
Would this be possible ?
Thank you for any recommendation that you could give me

I would be dubious in the current market about being able to get sponsorship so easily. Especially if you do not have specialist skills and / or previous Australian work experience.

This interests me, too. I'm currently priority 5 and about to lodge an application for a 176 visa.
If I was offered a job in Oz is it simply a case of informing the immigration people and jumping to the top of the queue?

First of me hearing about these. What's the estimated times being in the priority 1 band?

Jock.
