Police check and document certification
Hi Guys n gals
early days but going for subclass 136 visa. Do I need police checks for the
wife too?
And on the TRA section 8 application checklist it says, "all copies of
documents have been certified by an appropriate person (see evidence
required). Can't find anything relating to 'evidence required', and can the
same person certify all copies. I have a neighbour who's a prison officer
and he certified my passport photos for me no problem.
TIA

Can't remember what is needed for the TRA exactly, but they need all Birth Certificates, ID pages of all Passports. I may have forgot something.
These need to be signed by a Justice of the peace or a solicitor etc, I don't know if a prison officer would do, I think not.
Hope that helps for now

This is a LONG process and much as you would like to you cant be to clever, so first is that TRA thing. Do that today (or as soon as you can) and then move to part two.
Good luck, and dont leave anything until tomorrow !!.
Regards,
Brian.

Thanks for the replies guys. Found the 'evidence required' bit on page 1 of
the Pre-migration Trade Skills Assessment form...doh! Unless someone here
can positively tell me that a prison officer cannot certify these docs for
me I'm struggling. Maybe my Doctor? I know from past experience that a JP
needs to know you personally. Same with the home beat policeman, whom I've
never met!

Do a search on the forum as there have been loads of posts on this. From what I recall taking the docs to the court can get them done free. Otherwise the lawyers will do if for a nice sum (nice for them that is).
Hope this helps,
Regards,
Brian.
