Default Plumbing Jobs in Western Australia

Hi,
Passed vetassess plumbing practical 15th July, along with other lucky plumbers, now begins the task of trying to find a job.
Question is: Do I try and find a job offer before we get out there or wait till we're out there and find one then.
I've already sent my CV off to several plumbing companies in the western australia area to see how the land lies and whether i get any job offers from it, but too date i don't hold out much hope.
I see from the internet that there are numerous employment agencies that deal with construction work, but ideally i'd rather work for a firm than an agency if only for the security of permanent work.
Any help or advice on where to look for work would be most useful.
Many Thanks

Pete
