Default Please help needed: 5 months in Germany -police checks needed?

Hello to all in the forum,
I hope someone might help me.
I spent 5 months in Germany as a student who received a scholarship, 3 years ago. I am planning to send my application for the skilled visa in a month.
Is DIAC going to ask me to provide police clearances from Germany? I don't know how I could get them.

Thanks for any help I can get!

makido

I believe you need police checks only for places where you lived longer than 6 months. Besides I am not sure whether your stay in a student exchange/scholarship program counts as a residential status. If you did not register at the local authorities (major's office) in Germany with an address you would not get a police certificate anyways. They don't "know" you in that case.
I would put the 5 months in as student exchange as part of your education and be done with it.

Vielen Dank, Stephen!
Das hab' ich mir auch gedacht. Auf einer Website habe ich gelesen, dass DIAC "police ckecks" verlangen kann, wenn du auch weniger als 12 Monate im Ausland warst. Ich hoffe, dass wird mir nicht passieren.

Danke!

For Australia you need a police check from countries where you have spent 12 months or more, in total. So with only 5 months you should not need a police check.

does this include army service? or are you exempt from getting police checks as you would never have registered with the mayors office.

You've already asked the same question:

Appologies if it seems that way, but i noticed that registering with a mayors office was mentioned and i was seeking clarification about that point, sorry for any misunderstanding, just keen to get the application correct.
