Default Please Help Change of job

Please Advice,
I filed my Independent Skill Visa application subclass 136 today.
And DIMA should receive it in couple of days.
My present occuption is of a IT Manager.

But I have heard bad news that next week will be last week at the
present job.
Technically this should not affect my points as I fulfill the
requirements of the points even if I have no job after next week.

But the other question is, that I have another offer from another
company which is attractive but the role is not of a IT Manager and
would take me into the business side with data management aspects; and
that has also been my career goal.

So my question is. will taking this new job at the new company
negatively affect my visa application ?
Or since I have filed the application and is in mail; that I can
comfortably make this switch ?

Any advice on this is highly appreciated

I'm not 100% but I'm sure it's the date DIMA acknowledge your application, not the date it's posted.

Someone may be able to either confirm/correct that for you.

Hi there,

Well... must be a tough decision to make. I just sent my 136 modl application in the mail 2 weeks ago. To play it safe, I'm waiting another 2 or 3 months before I quit my current job. I do not need the points just like you, but I want to be around (and not cause additional confusion) should a case officer really call up and check.

But here's what I believe : That at your old company,as long as someone can vouch that the references are true regardless of your presence there, you should be fine and may switch job.

Can't wait to hear what others have to say on this ^_^

Hi Wendy,
Thanks for the quick reply.

Following on the assumption that it is the date of acknowledgment at
DIMA and the worst case scenario being 8 weeks ( or 2 months ). I will
still fulfill
1) Recent Work Experience criteria ( 12 out of 18 months ) . I will
have 16 months out of recent 18 months of IT Manager experience.
2) Specific work experience ( 3 out of 4 years ) as I have 6 years of
experience as a IT Manager

Also in the application since it is filed in October ; all dates are
october based.

So I think technically I should be fine. Right ?

And if after the date of acknowledgment time freezes and they don't
care as long as you don't go into coma or do a felony.
Then I believe I should free to jump on the boat to OZ. Right ?

Please Advise

P.S. George Lombard and JAJ please comment too.

Thank you

Yup, Tough decision.
Especially when you do not have the choice to stick around.
The HR at my present company have stated that if someone calls with a
Aussie accent that they validate and verify.

Not to mention that the new offer that I have will allow me take my job
with me to australia.

So, there it is my story.

Please let me know if you have any further advise.
Thank you
