Default PCC from Singapore & India

I have lodged PR Online on 2 May 09 ,as my skill is on CSL, expecting the CO in next 2 months time.

I need to do PCC from Singapore & India .

I would like to ask following

1) As part of singapore PCC process, I need to submit the letter issued from DIAC/suitable authority requesting for Singapore Police clearance certificate in my name.
How can I get this?

2) I had got Indian PCC for South Africa 2 years ago as part of their visa requirement, and since then I had not been to india as I came straight to Australia, Will this PCC work as I am wondering any status wont change since I was never physically there (In India) hence cant do any crime or so?

3) Since wife in the application,PCC for her is also required?

Please advice.

thanks

Answer to your questions:

1. I applied for PCC from Singapore and submitted a letter from the CO. You can give them a call and explain your situation.
For Enquiries or Application on Certificate of No Criminal Conviction (CNCC)
Tel : 65 - 6435 8275 or 65 - 6435 8277

2. Any PCC is valid for 1 year and the one you have has expired. You will have to get another one from India.

3. All members above 16 years in the application have to submit PCC.

From Singapore Police when I emailed them:

You may submit the photo-copied visa application form with the clause stated the CNCC is required by them, and post to us together with all the requirements stated in the CNCC application form.

Yours Sincerely,
CNCC/CRO/CID
Singapore

So I copied the part of the visa form/note that says you need the PCC and sent them that, as we are getting it done before we submit our application (we are onshore). They've cashed the cheque so hopefully it has been enough.

Thanks Seasider for clarifying,

Another Query,

I had successfully received the CNCC for Singapore 2 years ago for South Africa while living there & they had captured our finger prints that time...

I want to know further that cant they re utilise that finger print this time (for Australian PCC) as organising & sending fingers prints to them from Australia is costing good amount of money (about 127 X 2 Aud) .Since Finger print does not change
Also every time I call them this number (Tel : 65 - 6435 8275 or 65 - 6435 8277) goes to there voice mail.

Would like to private mail their mail id?

Thanks

I don't know about re-using old fingerprint reports but I do know it only costs about AUD40 per person.

email address is on here: http://www.spf.gov.sg/epc/cert_issued.htm

Do any public offices in Singapore ever answer their phones? I received a letter asking me to call somebody re my Medisave and they still didn't, so I emailed them and told them to deal with me that way.

Download the form on the link above, complete it, and get an A4 sized envelope ready, addressed and with stamps on, take them to your local police station. Don't forget to put in the copy of the Aus visa form that asks for the police check, and your cheque (am assuming you have Sg cheques, otherwise IIRC you need a banker's draft) as well as everything else stated on the downloaded form - photos, copies of passport, IC, employment pass, etc.

Ask them for a fingerprint report for a police check for immigration purposes. This will take some time as they do a lot of prints! Don't go on a Friday or Saturday night when the drunks are in as they won't be able to do it, and they can't do it if they are processing a prisoner as they can't take you behind the desk.

The reason you need to have it all ready is that they won't give you the reports; they post them for you.

Hi Seasider,

I have filed online 175 Visa, based upon your experience,i am supposing that they should accept the email confirmation of the receipt of this visa.

However at Singapore CNCC website, they have mentioned following that

"Documentary proof from the immigration authority requiring the certificate. (A print out of the application requirements is not acceptable.) "

Wondering would they accept "this email confirmation of the receipt of this visa application" ?

Please advice.

thanks

Hi again I would really recommend you email them as that note is contrary to what they told me in their reply (as I pasted in above). If you have a visa receipt, even better.

They replied to me very quickly.
