Default payment methods 4 Online Immigration application

Hi All,

I was trying to lodge a new application online and i have completed 100% and in the end it gave me a credit card form. Now i do not want to pay by credit card rather i would pay by sending the money as a bank draft to the australian mission here in my country. Does any body know anything about this. I think I saw that I can pay to the Australian mission in my country How do i go about choosing that option on thsi credit card form. has any one started an online application and paid differently.??

I will appreciate any help here thanks.. I might even lodge an appliction this month then.

I applied online back in Oct 2008. The rule at the time was that only credit card payments were acceptable for online applications. For other types of payment, you have to apply using paper based application.

The DIAC preferred method of payment is credit card. If you are serious about your visa application, this is the method you should use.

Bah... Humbug.

I don't see what "being serious about one's visa" has to do with using a particular method of payment.

To the OP, if you make an application over the internet, then paying the application fee using the credit card is the only available option as far as I am aware. However, if you absolutely must pay using a bank draft, then a paper application might be the way to go.

Hey all,

what information do they ask for in order to debit the payment from you credit card? (I have a MA, so I can't look at the online payment link).

Only: cardholder's name, card number and expritaion date? Do they ask for the authorisation code in the back?

Thanks for your responses

What difference does it make? If you have the card you just turn it over and there's the code. If you are using someone else's card, either you have their permission and they will tell you the code, or you don't and they won't!!

Hi Pollyana,

I have to send scanned to my Migration Agent an Authorisation Letter to DIAC, so they can make that debit.
I asked, because I don't want to send scanned the authorisation code of the CC (for security issues) if it's not necessary.

Thanks again

I remember reading quite a few threads back in the day when the electronic applications were introduced. People had problems with processing of their credit cards, where their banks required a mandatory use of the CVV code (the one on the back), and common advice back then was to write a letter to the bank asking them to allow a payment transaction over internet without the security code. Provided that the payment system is still the same - your agent can do without the security code.

If you still feel paranoid about possible misuse of your card, as soon as the payment to DIAC comes through, call your bank and declare the card lost, they will issue a replacement.

I also wish to apply paper based application from India as unfortunately as couldnt manage credit card.
So only option left to me is Bank Draft / Demand draft, But I am confused which currency should I make demand draft AUD or INR? Moreover from which Bank should I make it ? Does DIAC accept all banks Demand Draft?

Please Guide. I am little worried about the same.

Question Urgent Help Required: Online Payment!!!!

Hi,

I continued the saved application for 176 and after entering credit card details I pressed submit and next page is shown

Your application is being processed/lodged. Please wait and do not refesh this page.

The same page is being shown for last one hour and its still shows its processing. I have checked from my bank they have not received any request. I have already told them that AUD 2575 deduction request would be received so kindly allow it.

I am worried and stuck in between... in dyre need of your help that what is the best way to adopt?

Well, considering it's midnight in Adelaide and none of us work for ASPC, I'm not sure what you're looking for.

Wait another 9 or so hours and if it's still "processing" then ring DIAC.
