Default Passport Expiration

Hi,

the PR VISA is granted for 5 years i guess, suppose if my passport expires in 3 years what should i do? do i have to get a new passport which has adequate time period for 5 years of VISA?

and after expiration of the 5 years do we have to apply for another 5 years of VISA?

please help.

You take the old passport and the new passport to the local DIAC office and they will put a visa sticker in the new passport.

Nope -- your visa is linked to you and not to your passport. After your current passport expires you apply for a new passport. You then take that to your local DIMA office who will issue you with a new visa sticker which will expire at the same time as the sticker in your current passport....

C..my passport will expire in 2 years & by that time i will be in OZ. so how to take the new passport to the local DIMA office??

You look up your local DIAC office in the phone book to get the address and then take the passports there.
