I would like to hear a definitive set of rules that ASPC are applying to how they allocate COs and process visa grants. The whole 'years worth of apps in August' excuse has worn thin. I can cope (just) with the long wait, but the apparent randomness is galling. And I don't think it's reasonable that online applications are being granted even if the application was sent several months after the equivalent paperbased applications. The communication Berlin Wall with Adelaide is cruel. There should be a clear and formal service level agreement by which the service is measured by the government.

I'll call them this morning and see what I can find out.

Good idea maroonednz - I totally agree with you. When I phoned ASPC/DIAC the woman actually told me that they couldn't accelerate my application (which I hadn't asked her to do) because it wouldn't be fair on the people who applied before us!! I was too sleepy and 'not with it' to say that there are Feb applicants getting visas :curse:

Let us know how you get on!!!

Granted on the 12th Aug and we got a mail from out agent today. No prior communication just straight to grant.

We applied at the start of November and got our ack dated on the 7th of Nov.

We hope for all that it means paper based are now being actioned.

We arrived back from a visit to SE Qld on Sunday 10th so we just missed validating. Our 17 year old loved it. Now we have to get our 18 year old to leave his girlfriend or get her to come with. She's a really lovely girl and he is smitten.

Maybe if he stays behind initially you can bombard him with pics of the rest of the family on the beach sipping cold beers all the way through the British winter until he cracks and gets down under

We will know more after today's A level results. If bad (as they have not worked) then probably by Xmas.
