There is no specific skill called oracle dba, there is an occupation database administrator in schedule 4, which means that you cant apply with this occupation for independent migration, but you can migrate under state sponsorship provided the state has this occupation in their skills requirement list, and they agree to sponsor you.

Hi,

Just checked the new ANZSCO list and I see like below...
Database Administrator 262111-- ACS ---60 points

Does it mean, I can still apply for GSM visa (skilled ind) on the above ANZSCO code ??

Oz_dream, can you please explain me why cant I apply for GSM and only SMP ?

Thanks

Hi,

For your occupation to be eligible for skilled ind, it needs to be on schedule 3 of new SOL, this one is only present on sched 4. thts the reason, hopefully some state will publish it in their requirement list..

Hello there.

I am oracle DBA with 5 years experiance and my occupation used to be on earlier SOL with MODL. After MODL dropped, I dont see Oracle DBA in the new SOL.

I have seen Victoria state migration plan and they do have bellow ACT occupation.

Hello Poland_boy,

I guess we are both in the same situation.
I am an SAP administrator and at the moment I'm not sure how am I supposed to proceed with the skills assessment and sponsorship application.
In the old SOL there where some occupations that fit on system administrators/engineers profiles like "System managers" or "Computing professionals NEC" .
But with the new SOL, everything seems to be targeting the software developers/programmers. Is it possible that Australia forgot about system admins, Cisco professionals and so on ?! I hope not.

Another interesting thing is that according with www.immi.gov.au, the ANZSCO "261399 Software & Applications Programmers NEC" coresponds to the old ASCO "2231-79 Computing Professionals not elsewhere classified". I'm pretty sure that many system administrators/engineers were able to assess their skills and they olso received a sponsorship on ASCO "2231-79 Computing Professionals not elsewhere classified". But according with www.skillsaustralia.gov.au, the ANZSCO "261399 Software & Applications Programmers NEC" seems to be containing only the Software Testers ( http://www.skillsaustralia.gov.au/PD...rogrammers.pdf ).

So, my question is : Were there any system/network administrators or engineers able to assess their skills on any of the following "new" occupations :

261111 ICT Business Analyst
261112 Systems Analyst
261311 Analyst Programmer
261312 Developer Programmer
261313 Software Engineer
261314 Software Tester
261399 Software & Applications Programmers NEC

Maybe as a "System Engineer" ???

Thank you very much.
