Default Onshore to Offshore...

Hi,

I applied for a skilled independent visa on Feb 1st 2007. Its been more than a year. However my application is still pending due to the bonus points held up in the capital investment scheme. I got a good job offer in the USA and moved to USA in January'08. I did not apply for the permission to travel visa which is bridging visa B. Can i change my application to offshore status by requesting my case officer or will my application be refused now? this is a very complex situation for me. And also in case if i have to go back to australia to get my PR stamped when its approved what kind of visa would i need to go back?

Any help is appreciated

Cheers!
