Oh no another Winter is approaching..
Got up this morning and I could feel the crisp in the air, that means THE COLD WEATHER IS COMING!! I don't think I can take another winter, all that anti freeze and car windscreen scraping. Please let my Visa application be quick !!
I hope never to see a flake of snow or ice again ( unless I want to go skiing that is !)
Anyone out there feel the same ??

The housing and land was also a lot cheaper and the people were really friendly.
Why are you waiting to go out and where are you heading to ??

Do I hate horrible UK winter weather, sludge, rotten showers and general dampness for the next 6 months - yes! Good job I don't live there any more!
But one of the reasons we chose NZ is for the skiing and REAL winter (if you choose) to be found in the South Island Alps.
Cheers - Don

The weather in England never bothered me as the truth is that its actually very mild and gentle - no extremes of hot and no extremes of cold. The majority of the world's population would give their hind teeth for English weather! Still, we never appreciate what we've got until its a memory.

Oh yes :-)
Although, living by the South Wales coast and having the
car in a garage I never had to de-ice last winter.
It's shorts and a fleece weather here this morning. 12C, not
a cloud in the sky, and a slight but chilly wind. If only
winter could be like this, but hey, that's how it will be,
touch wood :-)

Just extrememly shite.
I lived in the mountains of northern New Mexico for a couple of
years and the extremes, for me, were far more interesting and
enjoyable.. hot summers with daily monsoon thunderstorms, and crisp
cold winters with snow. None of the crappy rain and gales that
UK winters bring.

In your dreams mate.
One of the West Indies cricketers has a famous comment about the
British climate, paraphrased to "they have 9 months of winter
followed by 3 months of bad weather".

and we tend to remember the good times rather than the bad.

Winter in Brisbane/Goldcoat is pretty mild, I'd say an average temp mid day is inbetween 19 to 24 in the winter... only now we're getting hot again 27, 28... 30 forecast tomorrow...getting humid
winter here, is cold at nights, get your coats, and quilts out, fan heaters. Daytime under the sun is pretty pleasant, but even then you may need a jumper if you're anything like me and feel the cold.
cheers

It was funny we were walking around Queensland last month in our shorts and t- shirts, when all the locals had on leather boots, woollen coats and full winter kit !! It must have been 20 deg at the lowest !! Comparable to a summers day in UK .
I must remember to pack my full length woollen coat when we emigrate , you never know once we are climatised I may feel the same way.
What will happen when I come back to England at Christmas time, I will have to wear a king sized quilt around me !!

If you want to completely avoid the cold all the time, you should be
thinking about northern Australia. Darwin, Cairns or Townsville
should fit the bill, provided you can cope with the humidity in the
summer.
