Pollyanna, Is it really necessary to put every one down? Nearly every single post that I read from you is sharp and cutting and verging on rude. Do you not think that as a mod you could be a touch more polite?

All I posted was the truth. Maybe you would rather I posted a load of speculative waffle raising people's hopes with no basis for my facts?

(and I have to say you can't have read many of my posts!!)

You are right . Since many people come up with the problems and issues and it is better to be polite and convincing.

Thanks and Regards

You can still state the truth and be polite. I never mentioned anything about waffle and getting peoples hopes up. I just think it costs nothing to be polite no matter what you have to say.

Just my thoughts.

Agree with you!! I am sure she always tells the truth and tries to help posters... But somehow I feel she is rude!! Have read posts by other moderators, they are quite polite in replying...but Pollyana rocks :D

I have always thought that Pollyana needs to be more polite. But since she is the SUPER MODERATOR ! I never said it due to fear of being thrown out of this forum!. But I see a lot of others think that way too. But the fact is, she has posted around 38000 posts in 8 years - thats about 13 posts per day! I am sure she hears the same things over and over again and that makes her mood bad. We must undrestand that.

Cheers,

TAA

Simple enough...don't read posts!! Why must she throw us out? We are not saying any bad things to her...just want her to be bit polite!! That's all!!

I am not throwing anyone out. I am actually extremely hurt that when I have devoted years to this site trying to help people with honest answers I am repeatedly being told I am rude.
A short while ago I said I as going to resign as a Moderator. I was asked to stay because people needed my help and advice. Well, I hope you lot are now satisfied as you have just made my decision for me.

Noooo......

Please don't pollyana.. You've been a great help to this forum. I understand you just said what was on your mind. I really do agree with you. DIAC is so unpredictable. Nobody could predict for sure their next step..

If you could kindly reconsider your thoughts on quitting this forum. Lots of pips still need you.

Please.... :fingerscrossed:

Hey Pollyanna, you do what ever you feel is necessary. I am not going to apologise for what I said and I stick by it. You are a wealth of information and a great help to people. I just asked if you could perhaps not be so direct and rude in your answers.

I don't think the particular post you objected to was rude, mr luvpants. I thought yours was much ruder as it was personal and attacking.

Not sure how much you read around on this particular forum, but I do quite a lot, although perhaps not as much as Pollyanna.

What I see is that time and time again, people come along and post asking for timelines and what does documents met mean and how long until this or that and what is my CO thinking right now.

Repeatedly the moderators refer people to the site rules and request that people do not report timelines or start how long is a piece of string threads or speculation. I would not even like to guess how many times a day. I am sure that the moderators accept that this is part of the job of a moderator to a point, but do you really expect that every single post is going to be sweetness and light.

How many times would you say the same thing over and over again to the same group of people without getting maybe just a teensy bit irritated at times?

It is a thankless task so why not just give them a break.

I have to admit to be totally flummoxed by this. Where in this thread has Pollyana been rude? She's been a member of this site for 8 years and a moderator for as long as I remember. She's helped hundreds, probably thousands of members during that time. I don't see any of her posts to you or anyone else in this thread as being rude. Did she state an opinion without sugar coating it? Yes, but not in anyway could that have been deemed rude. On the other hand your posts directed at her could be deemed rude and that's no way to treat someone who goes out of her way to give her time freely to assist members.

I think Bermudashort's post here was spot on the money, and personally I do feel like you own Pollyana an apology.

Thanks.

(Apologies to OP for taking this off-topic)
