Default Occupational Trainee

Hi There,
Just looking for some guidance here...I have been offered an amazing
internship at a lab in Sydney - was ready to go with visa 442
(occupational trainee) forms back in October but because of unforseen
delays the sponsoring company wasn't able to file form 913 until Dec.
10th. I submitted form 147 here in Canada January 3rd, and they said
it can take up to 3 weeks to process, but since i had everything in
order (except the approval letter from the australian immigration
office - Parramatta Business Centre), it shouldn't take that long.

I'm leaving for London on the 20th of Jan, and I can certainly visit
the High Commission there to get my visa label, but I'm just starting
to get a little bit worried about the hold up in Australia - I can't
see any reason why this application should be rejected, and my sponsor
was incredibly thorough with the application, but I haven't heard
anything in almost 4 weeks. i know its been the holidays and there
needs to be some allowance for that, but i'm starting to go crazy. I'm
due to fly into Sydney on the 1st of Feb, but I can change that if need
be.

I guess what I'm looking for is some advice form people who've been
through this before? How long does it usually take and what are the
approval stats on this type of visa for canadians? I haven't been able
to find ANYTHING on the DIMIA website and the people at the High
Commission here in Ottawa won't tell me anything concret either, except
that I shouldn't worry :P easy for them to say!

Thanks for any help,
ScarletB

Bump - anyone? Has anyone applied for this visa recently? I'm just
trying not to freak out and I can't find info on process timing
ANYWHERE!
Any help at all would be appreciated.
Thanks
ScarletB
