Default Occupation OK for State Sponsorship List but working in other SOL occuptation?

Hope someone can help! I'm intending to move to Melbourne next year and was considering the student visa route (far from ideal) however I've recently realised that Agricultural Advisor is on the State Sponsorship list for Victoria.

My degree is a BSc in Agricultural Business & Economics (usual career for this is Agri economist/Advisor) and as there is no work experience requirement listed, it seems as tho' I should apply for state sponsorship..

My issue is that I have been working (self-employed, full-time) as an Acquisitions & Operations Consultant for a successful entrepreneur for 5 years (hotels, restaurants etc) - so could I claim work experience under 2299-79 (Business & Information professional n.e.c.) to get points but nominate Agricultural Advisor (2114-21) as my career to get S.Sponsorship?

Any opinions much appreciated!

Based on the aformention information, I don't see why you can't apply for skilled migration visa via state sponsorship route. Perhaps other forum member will give additional information. And Good Luck for the long journey to OZ.
