NZ Application-General Skills (JSV)
All,
Has anyone received a JSV over the past month or so?
If your answer is yes, could you tell me how long it took (from the application being submitted to actually receiving the visa)
My application was submitted at the beginning of January and I've heard nothing since.
Also do NZIS prioritise JSV applications? eg Application with Engineering degree will have precidence over application with Egyptology degree.
Thanks.
Doug

I spoke to NZIS last week both here and in Auckland to find out what the score is with JSV applications ( we applied in March).
They said that they are presently sorting out out a the backlog and prioritising certain PR applications, those with a job offer, full points etc. They confirmed that the time scale is much the same as what we were told when we applied, 5-6 months for allocation of a case officer and 9-12 months in total to completion.
I expect you will get allocated a case officer quite soon if you haven't got one already and perhaps expect the decision in the autumn/winter, perhaps sooner if they can clear the backlog quickly.
let us know how you get on, and good luck,
karen

When the NZIS received my application, their estimated timescales were:
Assignment to a visa officer within 3 to 4
months
and estimated 6 to 9 months total processing time.
Oh well it look like I should be assigned to an officer within the next couple of months. Just tired of waiting.
I'll keep you posted
