Is this nonsense?
An immigration advisor just told me:
i)If your husband is not seeking permanent residency, just a work permit, then he can work anywhere in Australia (not just in the states where his occupation is on the csol).
ii) If your husband's job is on the csol it does not need to be state sponsored if he is not seeking permanent residency. It just has to be employer sponsored.
iii) If your husband's job is on either the csol or sol then he can get a work permit via a job offer anywhere in Australia - and not even have to be point scored.
Is this all, as I suspect, total bunkum?

By "work permit" I presume the advisor is referring to a 457 visa. There's more about them here. I'm not an expert on 457s but I think what you have been told is correct (subject to his skills being on the relevant list). The link should cover everything though.

Is correct that 457s are not points scored and he can work anywhere as long as his job is on the relevant list, and he gets himself a job offer. 457s are employer sponsored not State Sponsored.
